We are currently seeking a passionate Maintenance Porter to join our firm. From our offices in Fort Lauderdale, we invite candidates to connect with us and discover everything Berger Commercial Realty has to offer.

We are seeking someone who is motivated, who will actively seek out and implement improvements to our process and who will provide an exemplary level of customer service to both internal and external customers.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Monitor and maintain the physical property by performing regular tasks including, but not limited to:

• Preventive maintenance and minor repairs such as replacing light bulbs, replacing ceiling tiles, pressure cleaning, and painting.
• Maintain cleanliness with daily rubbish removal, disposing of debris, sweeping, and general grounds maintenance.
• Assist with the inspection and test property lighting, irrigation systems, and timeclocks.
• Monitor, clean and maintain parking areas, loading docks, exterior building elements, meter, phone and riser rooms, dumpster enclosures, landscaped areas, and surface drainage systems.
• Observe and report property, tenant, and customer issues requiring attention from the management team.
• Monitor, assist and report vendor and contractor activities at the property.
• Providing directions and assistance to customers and visitors, often serving as a professional representative of the property.
• Additional tasks in accordance with industry standards may be requested

Essential Skills:

• Basic handyman and minor repair skills
• Willingness to perform basic day porter duties and occasional janitorial services

Special Requirement:

The position anticipates a typical 40-hour work week starting at 8:30 a.m. and ending at 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, excluding company holidays; some weekends may be required. As a Maintenance Porter, however, you must be accessible, via mobile phone or radio, including normal working hours, after designated hours of employment, holidays and weekends on an emergency basis. You will be participate in an on-call schedule as needed and must make arrangements with a supervisor for back-up coverage in the event of after-hours unavailability.

• MUST be able to pass a credit & background check
• MUST possess a valid Driver’s License with clean driving history
• MUST be eligible to work within the United States without sponsorship.

Equipment and Materials:

The company will provide you with the necessary materials and supplies to perform your work including key equipment such as shop-vacs, pressure cleaners, ladders, etc.

Basic tools, however, are to be provided by and shall be the responsibility of the employee including hammers, saws, screw guns, tape measures, pliers, vice grips, wrenches, etc. as needed.
